Music
Music has its place in the curriculum throughout the school. There is a dedicated Music Room where every child has opportunities to sing and play percussion instruments. Pupils from P4-P7 are encouraged to play the recorder.
The school choirs give much enjoyment to children, enabling them to sing for pleasure and presenting the challenge of two-part singing.
In conjunction with the South Eastern Music Centre we run a ‘Wider Opportunities’ programme enabling every pupil in Primary 3 to have a ten week session learning to play the violin.
There are opportunities for interested children to audition for tuition in brass, woodwind, stringed and percussion instruments.
Throughout the year children participate in School Assemblies and Special Services. The choirs, orchestra and recorder groups provide opportunities for many children to perform in festivals and prestige events.
